Centers
Students pick a center they would like to work in with a friend or independently. Students may explore the different centers as they wish. New themed activities are added to each center each week. Skills and concepts students are learning during centers are literacy, math, science, art, fine motor, and social skills.
Music and Movement
Music and Movement is filled with songs, rhymes, instruments, and use of gross motor skills. Through music we build and learn various language skills, phonemic awareness, math concepts, music, social skills, and gross motor skills
Morning Circle Time
We start with the message of the day to build literacy skills. Then we read a book related to our weekly theme. Students share, join in, make meaning, and make connections to build reading comprehension, book knowledge, and phonemic awareness. Our focus is on social skills, character building, and independent living skills. Students will enjoy music, drama, games and fun activities that encourage social and emotional skills.
Large Gross Motor Play
Various gross motor activities are set up around the outside courtyard to practice and develop various gross motor skills. Jumping, running and playing games helps to develop the muscles while creating a strong core for balance. Students will have the opportunity to play with the large sensory tables for exploration.
Every child is unique. Children may learn and grow at different speeds, but every one is precious and has a gift that they can contribute.
Children need a sense of connection with others to let them know they are loved. Thrive Day School fosters an environment for children to develop strong bonds with their parents, families, friends and communities.
We provide students with engaging, age-and-skill-appropriate personalized learning solutions to maximize intellectual growth and a fulfilling life.
